Kenning Successfully Defends Title

Under brilliant clear skies the 20th NSWVGA Strokeplay Championships were finalised at Liverpool Golf Club today. Of the original 74 nominations only 65 completed the third round because of some instances of illness and concerns over family matters.
For the third year in a row Col Kenning from Kiama won the title. Leading by 5 shots after the first two days, he carded a brilliant one under par round of 71 today to spreadeagle the field and win by 13 shots. Not happy after his round on Tuesday he raced home and spent some time on the practice fairway at Kiama and must have certainly ironed out some faults. Another feature of this result was that even though he was the lowest marker playing off 2 he actually had the lowest net score across the whole field.
